What’s up Boy Band Lovers Nation!!!!

It’s ya boi kdawg21 with a huge scoop. It’s been nearly 25 years but I’m so excited to be posting again!!!

Long story short, my buddy Julio who lives out in New Mexico was digging in his yard because he was trying to install an inground pool (not for swimming but as a venue for his Sum41 cover band, Sum1Else) and he found all these old CDs—he thought they were old PS1 games at first but it turns out it was dozens of copies of this album called Our Time To Shine by this boy band called RV.

The crazy part is—there’s no trace of this band on the internet at all!! Nothing shows up on Wikipedia, and I WhatsApped everyone on the Boy Band Archive fan club groupchat and nobody had heard of them before! Although it’s a little hard to tell because if you google them you just get a lot of camper websites?

Here’s what I can tell from listening and reading the liner notes:

The lyrics to the first song explain that they were contacted by the CIA after being discovered “on the radio” because they were recruited to sing and dance for aliens to prevent an incoming invasion?? And it worked but in order to cover up what happened the government hid all of their music from the world??

The band is called RV and I think it's because there’s five of them and their names are all variations of Robert? The members are named Rob, Bobby, Robby, Roberto, and RJ. Apparently this album was recorded in 1999 although I don’t recognize any of the logos on the back of the label or the production company or anything.

I took the liberty of uploading it to Spotify so everyone can listen to it! And I posted the lyrics on a page of this site so you can sing along if you want.

I’m posting this here to see if anyone else knows or can find out anything more! This is honestly the most exciting thing to happen to me since I was in line with JT at the airport in 2017 and he complimented my frosted tips. (Note: JT=Jeff Timmons from 98 degrees)
